A requirement for school was to take an outdoor recreation class (yeah..indoor rockclimbing counted but I found something better). I took nature photography this semester which required a weekend somewhere in Utah. It's really funny when you notice how leisurely photographers take a hike. We literally could and did stop every chance we wanted to snap a picture. I know the beauty of point and shoots, because they are so light. The larger cameras are worth the extra weight....but still.
We lucked out with beautiful weather until the ride home, but overall I couldn't have wished for better conditions. Here is a selection of pics that I liked best. The first one is a cropped/panaramic picture. We headed down to Capitol Reef and spent the weekend.

I remember taking a similar class in arches Nt. pk. We need to compare notes. I took my camera with my big telephoto lensand turned in an amazing lesson plan with slides. My prof. asked if he could get dups made of my slides so he could keep the whole deal. It was cool. Your photos are beautiful, can't wait to see more.
