Dear Gramps

My dear Grandpa has finally joined my sweet Grandma this past weekend. I honestly didn't think it would be as hard as it has been without him around. I'm glad he's not suffering any more and he no longer has an excuse to complain about being old and falling apart. As long Ias I keep busy it's not so bad. My apologies to my hubbie who has to see me breaking down so often.

...While looking through some old photo albums I came across a few choice pictures, some that I haven't seen before of me and the grandparents. I miss them soo unbelievably much. My grandma always gave me pep talks about auditions (among hundreds of other things), and my grandpa was always there if I needed something. I feel really lucky for having my grandparents for as long as I did. They were and always will be such great examples of the perfect grandparents. My younger brother and I were chatting the other day about how good of a relationship we had with our grandparents, especially our grandpa. We all spent a great deal of time with him..and of course he taught us so many important things......
-it's not how much money you have, it's what you do with it (coming from a boy who made money during the depression)
-there's no use in getting angry (it means you lost the argument)
-the magic words: please and thank you
-the proper way to assemble a super and super duper ice cream cone
-the healing powers of chocolate cake
-how to say thank you (he always thanked me for being his granddaughter)
-you can never say I love you too many times to one person
-it always pays to be nice and charitable to others
-never lend family money, just give it to them if you need to
-judge judy is always right
-it's important to be dependable ( i can't tell you how many times I called my grandpa when I needed a ride or needed to be picked up)
-"be nice to Lincoln..he's my baby boy" "be nice to your dad he's my baby boy"
-it is wise to use the 'senior discount' system for free drinks at KFC
-make friends and be nice to everyone (his relations at KFC were phenomenal..he was always given better deals and get well cards from his chums)
-you have to think for yourself and use common sense...sometimes doctors
nurses have no idea what they are talking about (no insult intended to doctors or nurses)
-art is not a reputable career choice...finance/medical/business are
-you can go far by beating opponents at checkers (he wigged his way home earlier from the navy and a war by beating the ship's captain at a game of checkers, earning his respect for not being intimidated by the c.
-how to keep a secret
-clean up your messes, spills and crumbs (oh licorice...that's we loved it so much. It never caused messes.)
---just to name a few----

For years I put up and took down his Christmas tree. I loved seeing his appreciation for something so simple as a lit tree. My Grandma collected or made almost all of the ornaments. He would always tell me seeing that tree would remind him of her. This year at the Christmas Tree Festival I saw this tree and thought immediately of him....I think one reason why I love Christmas and trees so much is because of the amazing memories I have when I see them.

A few years ago my Grandpa started coming over to our house on Sundays for dinner. I loved seeing him and I loved talking to him. The last pic is of us is at Thanksgiving a few years (one year?) ago. This year a bunch of the family went down to his residence to feast. Unfortunately he was not doing well enough to join us, but the fun visit afterwards was one I won't forget.
Dear Grandpa,
I miss you so incredibly much! You're allowed to have the time of your life with Grandma and the dogs!! I'll love you forever:D I'm glad you approve of my hubbie, and no worries he'll provide for me just the way you did for Grandma:D

loves,

Kylee Jane

sephy's candids

We shot bridals last week, and I absolutely loved how they turned out. I will not be posting the official ones until late Jan, but here are some of my favorite candids. Sephra was a great sport to brave the wind after her real bridals were finished.

For Nat....:D

These are the first of a few I'm working on this week. (Tragically only after I have finished my allotment of homework for the day). To Nat who always thinks up a cooler place to write about than I could ever imagine.

Third round....

I have a constant love/hate of too much light and complete shade. I love the 'overblown' look, but I really like it when there are zero highlights and the tint doesn't seem so yellow. I thought the lighting in the heart pic was funny. I love it when you go through hundreds of pictures and you see one with comical lighting...How that ever happens, I'll never know. (In reference to the spotlight on the belly)

I really like working with this R & D...easy-going and up-for-anything attitudes. From solo shots, to engagements and now pre-baby! Congrats you guys:D Yes, she is very pregnant. I seem to have an automatic knack for hiding it though....

Past shoots...and getting caught up

First time with a horse. I actually had a lot of fun and I have discovered a horse-care encyclopedia!! Thanks Reannen for letting me take the photos!

the classic village experience

In the spirit of Halloween, I must recommend all females to attend (males only if you are needed for photography assistance). I didn't take pictures of everything because it would ruin the surprise.

Why My Husband Is Amazing

I know everyone gives guys a bad rap for not having good taste in home decor, as well as in other areas....but I have to say I am married to the exception. We have been keeping an eye out for fun Halloween-esque decor with some specific things in mind. Low and behold I come home today for my mini school break (and much needed....) to find a collection of items that look fantastic in our home and the correct smelling candle! Ah. You could win me over with Pumpkin Spice/Cinnamon candles any day. I have only one real pet peeve about our apart. and it is the joined air vents...anyone burns anything you know it. It gets pretty stuffy inside and there are weird smells here all of the time. I have an excellent candle to remedy the situation. Thank you D!

I love that my hubbie willingly goes grocery shopping. Who'd have guessed it would be one of my least favorite things to do.

I was introduced to Pirates of the Caribbean LIFE game. It's really quite entertaining and I would really recommend it to anyone. Thank you my pirate-loving hubbie.

What I really appreciate from my husband is his lack of criticism towards crafty things that I like to do. My Saturday afternoon was partly spent with the coolest Q on the planet in carving some pumpkins. Check em out.

Oh my, honey.....I loooove ya.

Happy Halloween .... and counting

I haven't posted these ( I don't think I have) because I wanted to wait until October. I love October because it starts off a great string of holidays.....Halloween, birthdays (mine), Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Here's to the fantastic Holidays season ahead of us.

Go US! Going on six months (every month is worth bragging about)......

what makes me happy

Here's my random spiel for the day because I am on a happy 'high'....What makes me happy? A clean living space, finding things, organizing things (because I find more missing items that way), dishes put away, semi clean carpet ( you can only do so much), my darling husband who tries everything to make me happy, family outings, Halloween, really good art and many more things. I don't think I have loved my life more than I have now. Yeah for finding my "happy thoughts....off to Neverland".

found pics

I thought these pictures were lost....I only had one copy of my favorite print..NOW I HAVE them. Thank you Kylee for having some sweet hoarding/finding skills. This was an old photo assignment, back in the SLCC days of photography. Smelling like chemicals for a semester was SO worth these shots.
